The IFE is a whole-cut Oxford. One piece of leather. No seams on the upper. No cap toe. No brogue. No medallion. No decoration of any kind. The entire upper — vamp, quarter, heel counter — cut from a single hide. This is the most demanding construction in Oxford shoemaking. There is nowhere to hide.
Deep charcoal graphite with a subtle blue-grey iridescence. The colour shifts in different light. The leather is flawless or it is not used.
The sole is the finest in the collection — full tan leather forefoot and shank, Barcon Getta script at centre, decorative brogue-stitch welt border, dark grey rubber heel pad. Seen from below, it is as considered as the shoe above.

Cleaning
For surface dirt — a slightly damp cloth, no soap. For deeper marks — a small amount of saddle soap on a damp cloth, worked gently into the leather, wiped clean, then dried with a soft cloth.
Conditioning
Apply a natural leather conditioner — beeswax-based or lanolin-based — every 3 to 6 months. Use a soft cloth, work in small circular motions, allow to absorb for 30 minutes, then buff lightly.
Water
East African full grain leather is naturally water resistant. If the shoe gets wet — wipe dry immediately and allow to air dry away from direct heat. Do not use a hair dryer or place near a radiator.
Storage
Store with shoe trees when not in use. Keep away from direct sunlight for extended periods. Use the dust bag provided.
The Patina
The darkening and character that develops over months of wear is not wear — it is the leather responding to you. Condition regularly and it will continue to develop for years. No two pairs age identically. That is the point.
