The DESE is the shoe that crosses the line — deliberately. Dress shoe construction on top. Sneaker sole underneath. The upper is full grain leather: smooth mirror-polished across the vamp and toe, fine woven embossed check on the quarter and saddle panel, perforation dots at the toe. Open Derby lacing. Six eyelets with tab pulls. Everything above the sole says dress shoe.
Then the sole. Flat, lightweight, flexible rubber — herringbone tread on the brown, black and white and blue stripe midsole on the black. The shoe that goes from the office to the weekend without changing.

Cleaning
For surface dirt — a slightly damp cloth, no soap. For deeper marks — a small amount of saddle soap on a damp cloth, worked gently into the leather, wiped clean, then dried with a soft cloth.
Conditioning
Apply a natural leather conditioner — beeswax-based or lanolin-based — every 3 to 6 months. Use a soft cloth, work in small circular motions, allow to absorb for 30 minutes, then buff lightly.
Water
East African full grain leather is naturally water resistant. If the shoe gets wet — wipe dry immediately and allow to air dry away from direct heat. Do not use a hair dryer or place near a radiator.
Storage
Store with shoe trees when not in use. Keep away from direct sunlight for extended periods. Use the dust bag provided.
The Patina
The darkening and character that develops over months of wear is not wear — it is the leather responding to you. Condition regularly and it will continue to develop for years. No two pairs age identically. That is the point.
