KINSHASA Penny Loafer Sale price$214.99
East African full grain leather. Sourced directly by Barcon Getta. Not through a distributor. Not through a middleman.

The KINSHASA is a full-grain leather penny loafer with brogue detailing — available in deep burnished cognac/brown patina and jet black. The patina on the brown is hand-applied: dark at the edges, warm cognac at the centre, different in every light. Brogue perforations run along the apron seam and strap edges.

This is the most formal loafer in the Barcon Getta collection. The shoe that goes to the meeting and stays for dinner.

Full-grain leather upper — hand-applied burnished cognac patina (brown) · high-polish jet black. Brogue perforations along apron seam and strap edges. Penny strap. Leather lining. Hybrid leather and rubber sole — bright orange/tan leather forefoot, black rubber heel block.

Named for Kinshasa — the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, one of the largest cities in Africa, on the Congo River facing Brazzaville across the water.

For the man who walks into the room and changes it.

Cleaning

For surface dirt — a slightly damp cloth, no soap. For deeper marks — a small amount of saddle soap on a damp cloth, worked gently into the leather, wiped clean, then dried with a soft cloth.

Conditioning

Apply a natural leather conditioner — beeswax-based or lanolin-based — every 3 to 6 months. Use a soft cloth, work in small circular motions, allow to absorb for 30 minutes, then buff lightly.

Water

East African full grain leather is naturally water resistant. If the shoe gets wet — wipe dry immediately and allow to air dry away from direct heat. Do not use a hair dryer or place near a radiator.

Storage

Store with shoe trees when not in use. Keep away from direct sunlight for extended periods. Use the dust bag provided.

The Patina

The darkening and character that develops over months of wear is not wear — it is the leather responding to you. Condition regularly and it will continue to develop for years. No two pairs age identically. That is the point.
