The LOBAMBA is a whole-cut Oxford with one seam. Not zero — one. A single vertical split runs down the centre of the toe. That is the only line on the entire upper. Everything else — the vamp, the quarter, the heel counter — is one continuous piece of leather.
The cognac brown is deep and hand-burnished. Warm in daylight. Rich in low light. The patina develops with every wear. The sole is the most traditional in the collection — full leather forefoot and shank, gold welt stitching along the entire perimeter, dark rubber heel pad. Cleaning
For surface dirt — a slightly damp cloth, no soap. For deeper marks — a small amount of saddle soap on a damp cloth, worked gently into the leather, wiped clean, then dried with a soft cloth.
Conditioning
Apply a natural leather conditioner — beeswax-based or lanolin-based — every 3 to 6 months. Use a soft cloth, work in small circular motions, allow to absorb for 30 minutes, then buff lightly.
Water
East African full grain leather is naturally water resistant. If the shoe gets wet — wipe dry immediately and allow to air dry away from direct heat. Do not use a hair dryer or place near a radiator.
Storage
Store with shoe trees when not in use. Keep away from direct sunlight for extended periods. Use the dust bag provided.
The Patina
The darkening and character that develops over months of wear is not wear — it is the leather responding to you. Condition regularly and it will continue to develop for years. No two pairs age identically. That is the point.
