The MEDA is a high top leather sneaker built on one principle — nothing extra. Smooth full grain leather upper. High ankle collar. Tone-matched laces. A minimal cap toe seam. That is everything on this shoe. No logo on the upper. No branding on the side. No colour blocking. No decoration of any kind.
All-white. All-black. Two finishes, both absolute, both clean enough to wear with anything and deliberate enough to elevate everything.
The sole is flat and vulcanised — fine herringbone chevron tread, clean white midsole wall, court-shoe profile. Low to the ground. Light on the foot.
MEDA means "field" in Amharic — the open ground, the playing field, the space where things happen. This is the shoe for that space. Every space.

Cleaning
For surface dirt — a slightly damp cloth, no soap. For deeper marks — a small amount of saddle soap on a damp cloth, worked gently into the leather, wiped clean, then dried with a soft cloth.
Conditioning
Apply a natural leather conditioner — beeswax-based or lanolin-based — every 3 to 6 months. Use a soft cloth, work in small circular motions, allow to absorb for 30 minutes, then buff lightly.
Water
East African full grain leather is naturally water resistant. If the shoe gets wet — wipe dry immediately and allow to air dry away from direct heat. Do not use a hair dryer or place near a radiator.
Storage
Store with shoe trees when not in use. Keep away from direct sunlight for extended periods. Use the dust bag provided.
The Patina
The darkening and character that develops over months of wear is not wear — it is the leather responding to you. Condition regularly and it will continue to develop for years. No two pairs age identically. That is the point.
